- Make sure to wear gloves all the time to avoid the contamination of your samples by keratins. Avoid dust and use clean glassware to prepare your samples. Also avoid wool clothing. Clean the lab bench with ethanol before each experiment.
- If your use silver staining, avoid glutaraldehyde, a reagent incompatible with mass spectrometry. If you don’t have an alternative protocol, don’t hesitate to contact us.
- Preferably, use non-autoclaved Treff or Eppendorf tubes.
- Gel samples must be covered with a minimum of a 1% acetic acid solution.
